Colouring – Monday Moments

Filed under: Monday Moments — by Alison @ 2:13 pm

She likes to draw people and colour them in. If she can’t get their hair right, she tells me they’re wearing wigs. Seems perfectly reasonable to me.
He hasn’t quite figured out the appeal of colouring. He just wants to be beside her.

They’re both on the floor with colouring books and markers (washable of course). She’s intently colouring a cat, and he’s making a colourful pattern on the back cover of the book. The back cover is shiny, so it’s more fun to colour on. Later that morning, I notice the marker all over his back and in his hair. He couldn’t have done that himself, and I’m not sure why she would have. I didn’t figure it out until I went to tidy up the colouring books and my hands ended up covered in purple marker.

Apparently all great artists roll around on their masterpieces.

  1. This isn’t a Monday moment but a few month’s ago, I had gone out for the night. I guess my husband had let the boys hang out together in Son No. 1’s room together….with the door closed. Later on that night I got home and went into Son No. 2’s room to give him a kiss. He was asleep on his belly and written on his back in black permanent marker was “My Bro Did This To Me”

    Just about peed myself laughing

  2. So you`re saying you don’t roll around on your artwork when you’re done? How do you know you’re done?
