TV Time – Monday Moments

Filed under: Kids,Monday Moments — by Alison @ 11:29 pm

I’ve written about my TV shows, so it might be obvious that I’m a fan. However, I do feel that I’ve done a pretty good job making sure the kids don’t watch too much TV. In our house, the TV can go on at 5pm while I’m making supper as long as the table has been set and homework finished. They escape into the family room and E turns on the TV. She gets to control the remote. The flavour of the month is TVO Kids. And I escape into the kitchen, often supper doesn’t take my full attention so I get a little break.

Sometimes, H gets bored with the TV and wants E’s attention so he’ll turn off the TV. The glowing blue power button is the only one he can reach. I’ll respond to E’s howls of outrage, turn the TV back on and distract H. Other times, I’ll come into the family room and they’ll be sitting together. Those are the good days.

  2. I have to say I’m grateful both our TV’s are mounted on the wall and that remote storage is up high!! Changing channels and turning the TV off is a great way to torture your sibling 😉
