Ali's Adventures

I’ve noticed that quite a few book clubs have been meeting on twitter. It’s a great idea, people from all over can get together and share their thoughts about a commonly read book. The only problem for me is that my pleasure reading doesn’t tend to lend itself to deep thoughts, even one’s that need to fit in 140 characters. I tend to tweet about television. With the recent introduction of Netflix and HuluPlus to our household, I’ve been able to watch and catch up on shows I’ve never been interested in before. Hello, Parks and Recreation! But where to share this.

I was texting with Lara and the idea of TV club was born. Lara came up with the much catchier hashtag #bookclubschmookclub.

Our idea is to have a twitter chat once a month about a randomly chosen television series. We are planning for the first Thursday of the month at 8pm (EST).

For our first meeting in February, we’ll be watching Drop Dead Diva. I think it would be best to watch at least 2 episodes, to get a good sense of the show.

If you want to join in, follow me on twitter (@alisonjette) and check the hashtag for more details. #bookclubschmookclub

  1. I think even four episodes would be better. But really – who can stop before six? 😉

  4. I like it! Is this a show you can just hop in the middle of? I thought they were somewhere in the 2nd season now.

    • I’ve been watching it on NetFlix, so I started at the beginning. There’s 3 seasons on there, so it might be in the middle of the 4th. It’s not that hard to catch on, they explain the premise at the beginning of each show. Hope you can chat with us on Thursday.
