House Guests

Our first house guests arrived last night. We prepped the house for them. The shower room/laundry room was tidied.

Not sure you can see the claw feet.

The guest bedroom was emptied of boxes and assorted unrelated items.

Probably the most comfortable bed in the house.

Their favourite foods were purchased (grainy bread, and bananas).

That’s right, my parents are here!

It was so great to see them at the airport, it’s been a long time for us. When we lived in Ottawa, we’d see them at least once a week. Skype has been good but it’s not the same as seeing someone in person. E was awake when we got home, so there were hugs and much excitement. It took a little while to settle her back down and I wouldn’t have bothered except she had school this morning.

So far today, we’ve taken E to school and met some of her friends, wandered the neighbourhood, had donuts, been to a Good Friday service, watched a movie (while H napped), made Easter eggs and now they are at the park. It’s been a very good day.

It’s E’s school holiday next week and I’m looking forward to showing off Seattle and visiting places we haven’t been to yet.

Now that the guest room is ready, we’d like to keep it in use. Let me know when you’ll be in the area.
