Hilights of the week – April 22nd

A wonderful woman I know through Twitter created A Reason to Smile Today. She then challenged others to share their gratitude journals. It reminded me of an exercise I did in a sports psychology class. We had to create a hilight journal and hilight the best parts of our day. Some days it was difficult to come up with the best part, other days there were so many good things to choose from. The purpose was to focus on the moments that can brighten up a day. I love the concept but am not great at daily blogging. Instead I’ve decided to pull together a weekly hilight package and post on Sunday. So without further ado, my hilights for last week.

1. I got to go roller skating. First by myself at the roller rink and then at the PFM Foundational Skills night.

2. I passed the skills assessment and get to practice with the full group next time.

3. H told E that he “lost her” one afternoon, because she was at school when he was looking for her.

4. E did an amazing job with her reading at the school mass. I was so proud.

5. In music class, H clapped after the teacher finished every song. He also told her “good job” and “nice singing”. His politeness and encouragement make me laugh.

6. Dan and I watched a movie together. He’s also reading a book that I’ve already finished and we get to discuss it. I just have to be careful not to spoil things.

7. There has been more sun than rain this week. Makes a big difference in my mood.

8. I found Mexican Coke at the grocery store for a lot less than the corner store.

9. My brother has started planning his wedding.

10. I booked our plane tickets home for the summer.

What was the hilight of your week? Or just something that made you smile?

Much thanks to Ann for the inspiration.
