1.  Fun morning at the Museum of Flight with friends, and then an afternoon playdate to keep the fun going.

2. Toblerone’s were on sale at the grocery store.

3. Went to the Jet City open house and watched a fun scrimmage with some hilarious derby friends.

4. The whole family went to our first banked track derby bout to cheer on my friend in her début. She was amazing to watch.

5. I made fried rice and it was very tasty.

What was the hilight of your week? Or just something that made you smile?

Much thanks to Ann for the inspiration.

1. Scrimmaged as part of the Rat City Rec league. It was a lot of fun.

2. Took some friends skating up at the roller rink. I was so impressed with how well everyone skated. It’s a lot more fun going with friends than by myself.

3. Preschool class field trip to the zoo.

4. Valentine’s Day breakfast of fresh raspberry donuts and a latté.

5. Visiting a downtown waterfall and then an Asian supermarket, with cream puffs for dessert.

What was the hilight of your week? Or just something that made you smile?

Much thanks to Ann for the inspiration.

Zoo field trip

H’s preschool class had a field trip to the zoo this week. His preschool is held in the basement of a church and they needed access to the kitchen and parking lot during class time, so it was decided that taking everyone out would be a better plan. We all met at the entrance to the zoo, and the kids were handed identifying badges to wear. Normally, in the class of 22 there are 11 parents present. For the field trip there were 17 preschoolers, 3 babies and 18 adults. Needless to say, we didn’t lose any kids.

The best part of the trip was seeing the baby lion cubs. They’re only 3 months old and have just started exploring their exhibit area.

One was a bit curious about us.

One was a bit curious about us.

Or just baffled by the glass.

Or just baffled by the glass.

All four of the cubs, checked out the window and then wandered away to play. While the cubs were near the window, their mother prowled near by. The zoo staff is keeping visitors about 6 feet away from the glass, to help comfort the mother.

The zoo trip ended with a small circle time, including a story.

And then a group trip to the carousel.

I’m planning another trip to watch those baby cubs again soon. Or maybe I’ll just watch the videos http://www.zoo.org/lioncubs

Hilights of the week- February 10th

1.  Visited my injured friend and she was in good spirits. Then later in the week, she came to watch practice.

2. Dan and I did some long term planning, and have created spreadsheets and set budgets. Feels nice to have some decisions made.

3. I made fudge and brownies this week. The house smelled like chocolate for a few days, delicious.

4. Dan and E went out to the movies (to replace the Father-Daughter Dance) and I got to hang out with H for the evening.

5. Walking around the zoo in February is pretty sweet. Even the jaguars were in a good mood.

Hilights of the week- February 3rd

1.  Dan started a Disney puzzle that we’ve had for years, and we all built it together. I forgot how much fun puzzles can be.

2. My preschool snack was a success with all the kids, and parents.

3. We have a place to stay for part of our Hawaii trip.

4. Dan came to pick up H from preschool, after visiting E’s school in the morning. It was his first time seeing the place, H was so pleased.

5. Scrimmage day. I really liked the cohesiveness of our team. It was a very close game.
