1. Spent the morning climbing trees, visiting with friends and checking out the wading pool at Volunteer Park.

2. H was more excited about preschool camp and morning drop-off went very smoothly.

3. Good bye lunch with a friend. It has been such a treat to see her daughter grow over the past year.

4. Had odd compliments/encouragement regarding my derby skills. Still happy that my improvement has been noticed.

5. Wedding dress shopping and a Portland trip with a good friend.

What was the hilight of your week? Or just something that made you smile?

1. Visited the zoo and learnt all about the baby small clawed river otters. We didn’t go see the birds on a friend’s recommendation.

2. E was a helper at preschool camp, and both kids had a very fun morning.

3. Root beer floats with Jess was a lovely way to spend the afternoon, and she was very gracious after I left her on the front porch for 20 minutes.

4. Had a very full PNW weekend, with Bite of Seattle, the Chihuly Glass Gardens and Mt Rainier. Dan was very accommodating in both the Glass Garden and my less than precise directions around Mt Rainier (they give you the map, after you’ve arrived).

5.  Got some positive feedback and compliments at practice on Saturday.

1. We got back from a wonderful trip to Ottawa for my brother’s wedding. The wedding was amazing and so much fun.

2. Spent  the beginning of the week with family. My Scottish cousins were in town and are such fun. We’re hoping they come visit for a Canadian Christmas.

3. Spent the day at the beach with good friends. It was even warm enough for the kids to go in the water.

4. Skated with PFM on Sunday, and although it was ridiculously hot it was a great practice. I am feeling very confident in my transitions, in both directions.

5. Dan encouraged me to splurge on an impulse item. I am very excited.

1. Finished off our Memorial Day weekend at Great Wolf Lodge.

2. E did a poetry reading at school. She did a great job, and I love seeing her hard work pay off.

3. Took a friend to the zoo and we saw the baby animals. The porcupette was the cutest thing ever. It was trying to climb backwards down a log and kept having to stop and rest.

4. We scrimmaged against the Jet City Cadets. Dan and the kids came to watch. I was pleased with the way I skated and our team skated well together.

5. I got to be score keeper for the PFM scrimmage with my wonderful friend Jess.

What was the hilight of your week? Or just something that made you smile?

Much thanks to Ann for the inspiration.

1. Last week of H’s preschool meant an emotional circle time closing song and then a fun picnic lunch.

2. Got to watch international roller derby All-Stars. Fascinating to see all the strategy and speed.

3. E’s gymnastics coach came over to tell me the improvements she’s seen this session. I know how hard E’s been trying and it’s nice to see it’s paying off for her.

4. Did the Color Vibe Run with friends on Saturday. While the run was a bit underwhelming, spending the morning with those ladies is always worth it.

5. Overnight at Great Wolf Lodge.

1. There is sun and warmth. The weather was so beautiful this week. I sat by the canal and watched boats go by.

2. I bought my new skates with my birthday money. I can’t wait to try them out.

3. Went for Caribbean sandwiches at Paseo. I can’t believe I had never been before, it was incredible.

4. Having tea with Jess always makes my week better. She really helped reset my week and put it

5. Sunday was my last scrimmage with PFM. It has been such an amazing group, and it was bittersweet to leave Core.

Hilights of the week- April 21st

Last Monday, it just didn’t seem right to write about my highlights. Hopefully, this week will be less tumultuous one over all.

1. My parents are here visiting for the week.

2. Scrimmaged last week against and with some of my favourite blockers.

3. I’m really enjoying the Rat Lab practices and watching scrimmages with some very fun people.

4. E’s First Communion went very well. She was nervous but handled herself beautifully.

5. Went on a Segway tour with Dan yesterday. It was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed our afternoon date.

What was the hilight of your week? Or just something that made you smile?

Much thanks to Ann for the inspiration.

Hilights of the week- April 7th

1. I sometimes forget how funny my husband can be. When we were wondering why our downstairs neighbour seems to be constantly cooking onions at 10pm, Dan says “Oh, he must be into that home stew all the young guys at work are talking about. They’re always comparing seasonings..” I cracked up and it still makes me laugh.

2. E was off school this week, so we went for manicures and pedicures on Tuesday and then for coffee and macaroons on Friday. She’s a lot of fun to hang out with.

3. Had my first Rat Lab practice on Saturday and I think it went pretty well.

4. Spent a good part of the day exploring the Pacific Science Centre with friends. I definitely preferred the butterflies over the naked mole rats.

5. Went to a new cupcake bakery with a friend. It was delicious and great to catch up.

What was the hilight of your week? Or just something that made you smile?

Much thanks to Ann for the inspiration.

Hilights of the week- March 31st

1. Try-outs were Saturday and I made it all the way to the interview stage. Then after an excruciatingly long wait, I got the call that I have made the Rat Lab (the holding spot until skaters get drafted by one of the home teams). I’m so excited to be part of the Rat City Roller Girls.

2. We had friends over for Easter dinner and it was a fantastic evening. Turkey dinner, sundaes for dessert and fun board games to relax.

3. The sun has reappeared and our backyard is all tidied up.

4. Fancy tea is very nice to share with friends.

5. I made my Easter Eggs and I don’t have to share them.

What was the hilight of your week? Or just something that made you smile?

Much thanks to Ann for the inspiration.
